If the million-dollar goals of becoming an entrepreneur, starting your own business and achieving financial success are your dreams, here is the information you need to make it happen. My site is the home of about 200 original articles from three columns I published in the 1990s: "Employ Yourself" In Afrique Newsmagazine, "Home Free" in Chicago's Streetwise Newspaper, and "The Entrepreneur's Corner", which appeared in more than 200 community newspapers around the country between 1997 and 1999. These articles, and hundreds of new articles that we're writing with a 21st century emphasis on technology and the Internet, is focused on one goal: to provide the practical knowledge you need to create, achieve and maintain success in your own life. If you have comments or questions, e-mail me or sign my guestbook (for articles, click on the links in the left-hand menu).

For more than 25 years, I've talked about the dream of success. Like most people, I interpreted success primarily as financial success. Of course, with age comes wisdom, and I know there are many other kinds of success that are important in life. But for most of us, financial success still remains a top priority. We seek it, but statistics from books like The Millionaire Next Door and the U.S. Census demonstrate that few of us know how to or will ever achieve it.

When I was in college I said I would be a billionaire one day. There are people I went to school with (one in particular) who in fact became billionaires. I wasn't one of them but I still believe I will be one. When I said that 30 years ago I had no idea how I would become a billionaire. It was just something to say, and it was an even more preposterous statement at that time when you consider my family background and how much money there was in my family.

I started out as a photographer more than 25 years ago and graduated to a technology services specialist, fashion show producer and talent manager. Along the way, I've written and published a national column on entrepreneurship, worked in the non-profit field and developed a number of creative and technical skills. I hope that I've learned something about what does and doesn't work in achieving success in this life.

I've created a lot of companies that didn't work and a few that did and do. I'm now taking what I have learned and know and am writing books and producing feature films. And I've learned the inside secrets to becoming a millionaire and billionaire and I'm well on my way to doing both (although now the goal is to do it for my family, staff members, investors and suppliers and not just for myself).

Many people think it takes trickery or a ruthless personality to become a millionaire. The truth is that in today's interdependent world where strategic partnerships and positive relationships are everything, single-minded ruthlessness will destroy your chances and opportunities for success.

Rather, your key to entrepreneurial success will be your ability to bring together people, resources and cash in a successful business model emphasizing unique services and products that provide outstanding quality and value and create value for your employees, strategic partners, suppliers and investors.

Relatively few businesses or professionals today have created such a business model and that's why a majority of new businesses fail after five years.

I'm placing what I've learned about achieving success in various fields on this web site. The information is free. Read it, use it, and share your opinions and insights. You can e-mail me with any questions, comments and suggestions. Click on the links below to read the articles in each section. There are also some newsletters you can subscribe to and some communities I've started that you can join.
